Upcoming Holiday Events for 4-H

Stokes County 4-H is very busy during the holiday season! Please read up on the upcoming events. RSVP as needed if interested.

Monday – November 27th

If you are interested in helping decorate the Stokes County Cooperative Extension Office for the holiday’s, please plan to stop by the office (700 N Main St., Danbury, NC 27016) during the hours of 3PM and 6PM on Monday, November 27th! 

We will be putting up the Christmas tree, as well as decorating the auditorium with festive decorations!

Friday – December 1st

Stokes County 4-H will be at the Walnut Cove Christmas Tree Lighting from 4PM – 7PM. We will have a tent set up for folks to come by and make holiday decorations. There will be pre-made decorations for folks to use as a guide and to decide which ornament or decoration they would like to make. Please plan to arrive a couple minutes early, so you can be informed on what is going on. Email Miss Taylor to sign-up.

Saturday – December 2nd

Stokes County 4-H will be participating in the King Parade. Location and times to meet are TBD. Once this information is out, Miss Taylor will inform everyone. Email Miss Taylor to sign-up.

Monday – December 4th

On Monday, December 4th, at 6:30PM, at the Stokes County Cooperative Extension Office (700 N Main St, Danbury, NC 27016), Stokes County 4-H’ers are invited to our holiday party and to compete in the annual 4-H Gingerbread House decorating competition.

4-H’ers are asked to bring in their already made Gingerbread House and display it for judges to score. The judges will be on hand scoring the Gingerbread Houses and handing out ribbons. This is another great opportunity for 4-H’ers to earn 4-H scholarship money. Food, fun, and the great company of 4-H’ers and their families will be available. Please RSVP the number of people in your family will be attending by November 28th at 5PM! (Whether you are competing in the Gingerbread House competition or not, I need to know a number of folks attending for food purposes.)

For those participating in the Gingerbread House competition:

If you place FIRST in the competition, you will receive $25 4-H Scholarship money to use for 4-H events. If you place SECOND in the competition, you will receive $20 4-H Scholarship money to use for 4-H events. If you place THIRD in the competition, you will receive $15 4-H Scholarship money to use for 4-H events. For those who place otherwise, you will all receive $5 4-H Scholarship money to use for 4-H events.

If you are entering as a WHOLE club, 4-H scholarship money will go to the Club Account.

Friday, December 8th

Stokes County 4-H will be helping with arts & crafts at the Germanton Elementary Milk and Cookies with Santa event from 6PM – 8PM! If you would like to participate and help Miss Taylor, please email her.

Saturday, December 9th

Stokes County 4-H will be participating in the Walnut Cove Parade. Location and times to meet are TBD. Once this information is out, Miss Taylor will inform everyone. Email Miss Taylor to sign-up.
