Jordan Arnold from the Benton Institute for Broadband and Society has written a comprehensive case about the need for broadband on the farm. This information comes from talking with farmers, rural citizens, and rural internet providers. Arnold says, “Today, broadband is a necessary tool to innovate farming practices, allowing for more targeted and efficient resource use. Farmers need connectivity in the farmhouse and farm office, in the field, and in the community. But evidence shows that a majority of American farmers lack the connectivity required.”  It is simply the best work to justify rural broadband. Read more on the Benton website: “The Future of American Farming: Broadband Solutions for the Farm Office, Field, and Community.”
