If you like gardening, volunteering in the community, and making new friends, consider becoming an Extension Master Gardener volunteer.  We are a dedicated group of gardeners that enjoys making a difference in the community through education and hands-on learning.  The 2026 class begins January 29, 2026 with comprehensive horticulture classes covering gardening, turf and ornamentals, botany, soils, entomology, pesticide safety, diagnosing plant problems, and more!  Class cost is $150 which includes the hardbound North Carolina Extension Gardener Handbook and training materials.  Training runs through the end of April.
