At Home Kits
We have at home kits and we’re excited to share them with you! We have 4 kits broken down by age/grade level. For the Cloverbuds (grades K-2nd) kit is all about Entomology. This kit will have activities for youth to explore the outdoors, as well as make their own rock candy. The 3rd-5th grade kit will be teaching basic sewing skills, such as sewing on a button and making your very own heating/cooling pad. The 6th-8th grade kit is all about Microbiology, where youth will learn about microbes all around us, and microbes on bread (eeek!!!). Lastly, the 9th-12th grade kit will focus on Microbiology, where youth will be testing how infections spread by using bananas, and you can also learn about DNA Extraction.
These kits will be available for pickup at the Stokes County Cooperative Extension Office (700 N Main Street, Danbury, NC 27016) November 2-6 9 a.m.-4 p.m., as well as November 2nd and 3rd 4 p.m.-6 p.m. Please know that these kits are first come, first serve (because they are listed at no cost). We will not be holding any kits for anyone. We ask that when you come by to pick up your kits that you practice social distancing and have your face mask.
Stokes County 4-H would like to thank NC 4-H for supplying the lessons and activities, as well as United Fund of Stokes County for being a funding source and making it possible to provide these activities for our youth!
