4-H Clubs in Stokes County

(Updated: Feb. 9, 2021, 10:18 a.m.)

4-H Clubs are a great way to support long-term youth development and build community amongst our youth, while instilling essential life skills such as leadership, commitment, and nurturing relationship. Whether they are working together on projects in Science & Technology, or focusing their club efforts on environmental awareness, 4-H Club youth learn the importance of becoming engaged in the community, country, and world.

A 4-H Club is an organized group of at least five youth from three different families who meet regularly with adult volunteers for a long-term, progressive series of educational experiences. The purpose of a 4-H club is to provide positive youth development opportunities to meet the needs of young people to experience belonging, mastery, independence, and generosity—the Essential Elements— and to foster educational opportunities tied to the university knowledge base.

For more than a hundred years, 4-H has been dedicated to creating opportunities for youth that broaden skills and aspirations nurturing the full potential of youth.

Stokes County 4-H has 4 operating clubs. Youth may join any club, and join more than one club if they wish. If you're interested in joining a particular club, please contact the 4-H agent, Taylor Furr, for more details: taylor_furr@ncsu.edu.
