2025 North Central District 4-H Poultry and Rabbit Show

STOP: Did you click the red link above? The information below may be outdated!  The 2025 North Central District 4-H Poultry and Rabbit Show will be held on Saturday, March 15 (location TBD).

Youth must be enrolled (and approved) in 4-H, register, and pay the registration fee by the deadline, as well as maintain a project record book about the process that they submit for judging ahead of the show to compete in the show.

Poultry Show Information

The two breeds that have been selected for the 2025 show include:

New for 2025 will be an egg judging contest to be held in conjunction with the show on Saturday, March 15. Youth should bring six eggs that have been laid by the flock that they receive from us in September for judging the day of the poultry show.

Youth ages 5-18 that wish to show birds at this show, should:

  • Register and pay a $25 registration fee by August 16. Youth will receive 5 chicks that “should” all be hens. Chicks will be vaccinated for Mareks Disease.
  • Chicks can be picked up at your County Extension Center around September 26 (IF the USPS delivers on time). Participants should also submit a 4-H Project Record book on their project by February 28 in order to be eligible to compete.
  • August 7, 6:30 p.m. – Poultry Show Q&A Zoom
  • August 16 – Registration and payment deadline for poultry show 
  • September 5, 6:30 p.m. – Brooding webinar
  • September 12, 6:30 p.m. – Nutrition/Housing webinar
  • September 19, 6:30 p.m. – Health webinar
  • September 25 or 26 (tentative) – Counties/Agents pick up chicks from TBD
  • February 28 – Deadline for participants to submit record books to their county agent; County agents upload digital copies of them to a Google Folder for judging
  • March 15 – NCD Poultry/Rabbit Show – Location TBD 
  • TBD – Poultry Showmanship workshop(s)
  • TBD – Record Book webinar

2025 4-H Rabbit Show

Youth ages 5-18 that wish to show their own rabbit should register and learn more here before January 17 and pay your $5 registration fee to their county Cooperative Extension Center. In addition to showing their rabbit, youth ages 8-18 should also complete a 4-H Project Record Book.
