New Stokes County Extension Director, Matt Lenhardt

Please join us in welcoming Matt Lenhardt as our new County Extension Director for N.C. Cooperative Extension, Stokes County Center.

Matt Lenhardt was raised in Central Florida and graduated from Clemson University in 1994 with a Bachelor of Science in Horticulture with an emphasis on turfgrass.  Upon graduating, he worked in the golf and landscape industry, as well as selling turf and ornamental supplies to landscapers, sports turf professionals, and homeowners.  During his sales days, he realized that his passion was education, so he earned his Masters of Agricultural Leadership from the University of Georgia and then transitioned to Cooperative Extension Service in Florida.  He then joined N.C. Cooperative Extension in Iredell County in 2016 as their Horticulture Agent, and most recently served as the County Extension Director in Brunswick County.  N.C. Cooperative Extension is an educational “extension” of NC State and NC A&T Universities, with Field Faculty in Family Consumer Science, 4-H youth development, and Agriculture and Natural Resources housed in each county of North Carolina. The Piedmont region of North Carolina is familiar territory for Matt, and he is glad to continue his Cooperative Extension career and serve the citizens of Stokes County.
