2023 Stokes County Bee School

N.C. Cooperative Extension – Stokes County Center is partnering with the Stokes County Beekeepers Association to offer the 2023 Bee School.

Topics that will be covered:

  • Introduction to beekeeping
  • The organization and life cycle of the honeybee colony
  • Equipment needed to get started
  • Seasonal hive management of the colonies
  • Pests and diseases of the bees
  • Live equipment demos
  • And more

The school is taught by NCDA&CS Apiary Inspector, N.C. Cooperative Extension Agent, and Stokes County Beeker Association Members.

Workshop Details:


Classes: February 4th, 11th, 18th, and 25th.


Test Day: March 11th (review of the material, then the test)

Class Fees cover one-year membership to the Stokes County Beekeepers Association, an Educational book, and a hive tool.
