4-H School Enrichment is a sequence of learning experiences for groups of youth, in cooperation with school officials during school hours to support the school curriculum.
Stokes County 4-H has three school enrichment opportunities for Spring 2024.
*Steps to Health - Steps to Health’s 2nd Grade School program consists of 9 sessions that are designed to educate and inspire North Carolina children to eat smart. Hands-on activities, games, and physical activity are incorporated into each lesson. The first round of this program would begin mid-January, and the second round would begin in March or April.*Ag in the Classroom - 1 lesson / can be offered once a month or however is needed - the mission of AITC is to increase agriculture literacy through K-12 education. AITC cultivates an understanding and appreciation of the food and fiber system that we all rely on every day. We have lessons for most grade levels.
*Winged Wonders - This program can be up to 20 days (it may fluctuate depending on temperatures). Youth will follow the life cycle of butterflies, and you can compare them to the life cycle of chickens. *I will need to know the number of students you have so I can budget accordingly when purchasing the caterpillars. *Start the last week of April
