Stokes County 4-H Pumpkin Decorating Contest

Join us for our 2nd annual pumpkin decorating contest!Pumpkin decoration ONLY (NO carving); youth can attach any appropriate item to their choice of pumpkin (paint, ribbon, markers, sequins, etc.)

Age Divisions


  • Cloverbud – 5-7 years old
  • Junior - 8-10 years old
  • Intermediate - 11-13 years old
  • Senior - 14-18 years old
Age division is determined by the youth’s age on January 1, 2025.

Rules


  • Pumpkin must be completed by the 4-H’er
  • One pumpkin per 4-H’er
  • Any type and size of pumpkin or gourd may be used
Prizes will be awarded to the First Place winners of Juniors, Intermediates, and Seniors. Participation will be awarded to Cloverbuds. Judges’ decisions are final. Judging will be completed without 4-H’er names attached. Photos of all decorated pumpkins will be submitted to the Stokes County 4-H Facebook Page for judging of the “Fan Favorite”. All First Place winners in each age category and the “Fan Favorite” pumpkin will be displayed on the Facebook page on Halloween.Rubric

Contest Rules:
  • Youth must pre-register to participate
  • 4-Hers must decorate the pumpkin at home (please no carving!)
  • Pumpkin must be completed by the 4-H'er
  • One pumpkin per 4-H'er
  • Any type and size of pumpkin or gourd may be used
  • Decorated pumpkins must be submitted to the N.C. Cooperative Extension, Stokes County Center by 5pm on October 23rd.
  • Judging will take place on October 24th.
  • Social Media "Fan Favorite" Contest will take place October 27th-30th
  • Winners and Fan Favorite announced on October 31st via social media and email
