- Understand how to do a farm site analysis.
- Understand key aspects of crop production to produce marketable crops.
- Understand key aspects of crop protection with introduction to IPM.

- Understand the advantages and disadvantages of season extension.
- Recognize different types of season extension .
- Develop base knowledge in management practices (irrigation, fertilization, weeds).
- Become familiar with the resources on obtaining and implementing season extension.
