Auxin Training Reminder
Don’t forget! If you intend to legally use a dicamba product POST applied on soybean in 2021, you must participate in a virtual training session. This includes all of the dicamba products – Engenia, Fexapan, Tavium, and Xtendimax. Among other things, this training will let you know the buffer changes, what spray tips are legal, and what tank mixes are allowed/required. The remaining training dates are: February 4, 8, 18, & 24 and March 2, 11, 15, 24, & 29. Since this is an on-line class, you will need to contact Tim Hambrick at tim_hambrick@ncsu.edu for the link.
While training is not required for the POST applied 2,4-D product (Enlist One), it is highly recommended! The training dates above will also offer discussion on how to best utilize Enlist One as well as the dicamba products.
As of today, auxin training is required annually (2/1/2021).
Paraquat Training
Training for use of a paraquat product (Gramoxone, Cyclone, Helmquat, and Parazone are a few of the product names) is required to legally use any paraquat product! Training is on-line and a certificate is available once completed. That certificate is proof of training and needs to be kept in a readily available, safe place. Training is on-line and can be accessed at this link:
Paraquat training is required every three years, and, one of the major things to know is that only certified (licensed) applicators are allowed to apply a paraquat product. You can no longer legally apply paraquat under someone else’s supervision.
V Training
Again, following a trend here, check your pesticide license expiration date. If it expires in 2021, you need to make sure you have the necessary credits if you want to keep that license. Recertification will be done online. Below is the link for a V training scheduled for Feb 9, 1:00 p.m. Make sure you have the necessary X credits (2 hrs) as well.
For additional information on pesticide licenses please contact Tim Hambrick at tim_hambrick@ncsu.edu
