Master Gardener Volunteers of Stokes County
In Stokes County, Extension Master Gardener℠ volunteers work with N.C. Cooperative Extension to provide gardeners with unbiased, research based information on gardens, lawns and landscapes.
Under the guidance of our Agriculture & Natural Resources Agent, volunteers complete a 40 hour training program, pass an examination, and complete a 40 hour internship. To remain active in the program volunteers must log a minimum of 20 hours of volunteer service and 10 hours of continuing education each year.
If you would like more information about the program or have questions , please contact Bryan Hartman the Agriculture & Natural Resources Agent at Bkhartma@ncsu.edu or by phone (336) 593-8179. Be sure to like us Stokes Extension Master Gardener Volunteer Association on Facebook! Or feel free to check out the program handbook here: Stokes EMGV handbook
Our next Master Gardener classes will begin in February 2019!
You can usually find a Master Gardener at the King Farmer’s Market. Of course, you can always visit the SEEDS (Stokes Educational Exploration Dirtspot) Community Garden at King Recreation Acres in King, NC.
